ALERE® Accounting Version 5.0 Makes Drop Shipping Easy


Easton, PA – (February 2007) – ALERE v5.0 features many new refinements and one of the most significant is the implementation of drop shipping capabilities. With ALERE v5.0 drop shipping is easy and requires no special order forms. Just enter the item to be drop shipped on the sales order and select the supplier you want to use. Once the order is entered and accepted, purchase orders for suppliers can be created and the item shipped and invoiced all through one simple process. The only preparation that is needed is to identify the items in inventory that can be drop shipped and then add the supplier of the item along with their number for the item on the grid. As you move through the list of suppliers on the grid, it will automatically display key contact information for each supplier. Furthermore, the Sales Order Report, Daily Shipments Report, Sales Open Orders Report, and the Purchase Open Orders Report have all been enhanced to help you keep track of drop shipment information.

A few of the other new features to be found in ALERE v5.0 include redesigned screens in the Sales and Purchase Modules that help to streamline the ordering process. Now, from a single screen you can start an order, enter items on a grid and accept the order. Also, with the simple click of a button, you can reopen sales/purchase orders that are still within their valid date, to add line items and/or ship more quantity from existing line items or you can edit sales invoice header information.
Additionally, new user-definable locator rules give you greater flexibility and scope to develop filtering permutations that will help you to obtain the data you need. For example, you can quickly and easily gather the information necessary to provide customers with a list of your stores that are in their vicinity. Similarly, you can develop a list of companies with a particular SIC code that are within a specified distance of the zip code of your warehouse.
